Hey y'all!
I'm currently a Fool's Gold Cheerleader for Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold series. I decided a fun way to cheer this year (and hopefully in the future) is to pretend I actually live in Fool's Gold. (So I'm guessing this would kinda be like fan fiction.) Basically I'll blog about the "town," cheer about the books, share items that I think if I lived in Fool's Gold I'd find. I'm super excited about this venture.

ReplyDeleteI started with like book 5 and was very happy to learn that at the end this was a series book, but i read it as a standalone and didn't feel out of place. Just enough information was given about past eents etc.

ReplyDeleteAbout living in Fool's Gold, I find myself thinking about the charm as I go about my daily activities in my hometown, I think of this charm as I visit the library or the school or various other community activities. The first weekend in May, we have a parade through the town square to celebrate opening day for the kids and their families involved in our town baseball and softball leagues. This is just one example of how I find a part of Fool's Gold in Crown Point almost every day. Tonight I am going to the high school for the Spring Sports Awards, the athletes get recognized for their efforts in Tennis, Softball, Baseball, Track and Golf (oops almost forgot Lacrosse). It's such a FEEL GOOD night for all the athletes, parents, coaches, school leaders and community as a whole. Very often the Mayor will attend these events. True community spirit which we need to remember not to go through with blinders on.....enjoy life like in Fool's Gold and appreciate the small things that create happiness.
